Weingartners was started in 1933 by Robert A. Weingartner and Thomas J Cunningham. These two carried on a successful florist and business relationship for about 30 years when Mr. Cunningham retired. By this time Bob Weingartner had maintained his greenhouse in Shenango Township and the full service flower shop in downtown New Castle. In the mid 1950’s, Bob opened up a lawn and garden center in Neshannock Township. In the early 1970’s, Bob’s two sons, George and Tom joined the business and it has continued to thrive since then. In addition to continuing the full service flower shop featuring flowers for funerals, weddings, birthdays, special occasions and holidays, the giftware lines have expanded dramatically, and with lines of crystal, pictures, lamps and much more from the world over, the selection is endless. The greenhouses, still located in Shenango Township, have been updated and modernized over the years and carry a full line of foliage and blooming seasonal plants.
